Our favorite is the Ægir Viking Plank, consisting of five carefully prepared dishes, each paired with specially selected beers, available as part of our adventure packages below.
Inspired by stave church architecture, the building's exterior makes a striking impression. Inside, a 9-meter-high fireplace adorned with dragon heads and driftwood walls create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
4. Marianne's Bakery and Cafè
Welcome ta a charming café for coffee, pastries, or homemade lunch. Marianne fulfilled her dream of opening a café in her hometown, and ever since, it has become the go-to spot in Aurland Village. Just a 10-minute drive from Flåm, this cozy bakery offers freshly baked bread, pastries, and lunch dishes made with locally sourced ingredients from the nearby agricultural school. The warm hospitality of the friendly staff makes it the ideal place to enjoy breakfast or lunch and escape the winter cold.

In winter, Flåm transforms into a village of lights, creating a festive atmosphere in the heart of our small fjord village. Stroll through the town centre and admire the illuminated figures, some of which guide you along pathways offering panoramic views of the village from above.
At Flåm beach, there is a cozy shelter built for visitors.
Firewood is even available to start a bonfire, perfect for grilling hot dogs and marshmallows or simply enjoying the warmth of the flames.
Just remember to leave no trace and ensure the fire is completely extinguished before you depart.
7. Aurlandskoen Penny Loafer Factory
Handcrafted Heritage
The Aurland Shoe, the original penny loafer, is still handmade from quality leather. They now also make bags, belts, and small leather accessories.
With the Voice of Norway app, you can tour their historic factory in Aurland at your own pace. They have an outlet store in Flåm town centre.
8. Explore Local Fjord Villages
Undredal Village
Explore Undredal, a charming village by Aurlandsfjord. Enjoy a guided walk, a private visit to Scandinavia’s smallest stave church, and a tasting of their award winning goat cheese.
Undredal has also made its way into popular culture – the dramatic fjord views and snow-capped mountains have inspired scenes from the Disney movie Frozen.
Borgund Stave Church
Borgund Stave Church is one of the best-preserved stave churches in Norway, featuring unique wooden constructions and richly decorated details that reflect medieval craftsmanship.

9. Mall of Norway
Missing any winter gear, looking for a souvenir, or just feel like browsing?
Mall of Norway is centrally located in the station building in Flåm town centre. They carry many well known Scandinavian brands and have you covered with everything from hats, gloves, winter jackets, purses, and trolls of course.

10. Visit SJH- Norways Only Fully Ecological Agricultural School
SJH, or Sogn Jord- og Hagebruksskule, translates to “Sogn Agricultural School” and is a unique school being the only fully organic agricultural secondary school.
The school focuses on traditional methods of animal husbandry, including hand-milking animals, using horses to plow crop fields, and traditional cheese making. The curriculum emphasizes sustainable practices rooted in heritage techniques.
The school features a farm-shop where you can purchase not only the local produce and flowers grown by the school but also products from other local and regional sustainable producers. The offerings include items ranging from beauty products and kitchenware to soaps and textiles.

Monday-Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Glassblowing gallery- Merete Rein
Merete Rein, the founder and glass artist behind Rein Glass, has been creating distinctive glass art since establishing her studio and gallery in Aurland in 2012. Her work is deeply inspired by the natural beauty of the surrounding fjords and landscapes.
During winter, she does not have set opening hours, however, if she is working in her studio, the door is open for visitors to drop in and experience live glassblowing, see and purchase her art. Her hut is centrally located in Aurland Village, so its easy to pop by and see if she is in.
