Snowshoe Hike & Ægir Viking Dinner

The trip begins with a minibus ride along the Aurlandsfjord, past the iconic Stegastein viewpoint, located 650 meters above sea level, before we reach the trailhead. Upon arrival you will be introduced to snowshoes, how to hike in them and the history behind them. While hiking, your local guide will tell you about life in the fjords, the dramatic nature, and the culture of the area.

The 1,5-hour hike gives you the opportunity to see the fjord far below, the town of Aurland, the village of Flåm, and the snow-covered mountain peaks surrounding the fjord. At the turning point, you will be served a hot beverage while we enjoy the quiet and unique beauty of the area. There are plenty of photo opportunities along the way. Before or after the hike, we will also make a stop at the Stegastein viewpoint.

Important: General fitness, but no experience is needed for this tour. Please read our guide on how to dress for a FjordSafari snowshoe hike

NB: Due to weather changes, warm spells could result in little or no snow, making the trip a hike instead.

Continue your evening with dinner at the Ægir Brewpub. You will be served the Ægir Viking Plank, featuring a unique 5-course menu that pairs local dishes with five different beers from Ægir Brewery (non-alcoholic options available on-site). Relax and enjoy the cozy atmosphere in front of the tall fireplace, with dinner served at 18:00.

The package with alcoholic beverages is for adults only (+18 years old). Non-alcoholic beverages are available at the restaurant. For other food options please get in touch with us!
