What to Wear
At FjordSafari we offer tours 365 days a year! That means we encounter a lot of different weather during our tours all year round.
Dressing well is a necessity here in Norway - even in summer as the weather and temperatur can change quickly. Our general guidelines are to dress warm and in layers.
Below you can find more details about clothes to wear or bring on your specific FjordSafari adventure.

Summer - Boat Tours
Even if summers can be nice and warm in Norway it is common to experience rain and colder temperatures. In this part of Norway the weather can change quickly - especially in the beginning and end of the summer season. We advise dressing according to the weather and always have an extra layer nearby.
Our recommendations:
Long sleves and pants are recommended even on rain free days. If it is very warm short sleeves and shorts is okay to wear but bare in mind that it is often a lot colder our on the fjord.
Avoid wearing open shoes - your feet easily get cold in the wind chill. Wear closed shoes to stay warm and to be able to enjoy your sceninc adventure with us!
Bring a wind and waterproof layer - we have lockers at our reception where you can leave your belongings while on tour if you do not need them.
We always provide necessary safety gear to ensure your comfort and safety on the fjords; including a water-repellent flotation suits, life vest and goggles.
Summer - Hiking Tours, Biking Tours etc.
When preparing for a summer hike, bike or another active tour with us it's essential to dress according to the weather, your activity level, and personal preference. Bear in mind that the weather can change quickly in Norway so always bring a backpack with an extra layer! We recommend that you bring the following items on our summer tours:
Sturdy hiking boots/hiking shoes - on most of our hiking tours you need to wear proper shoes. Sneakers will not be good enough. We often hike in steeper terrain and the ground can be both muddy, wet and slippery. We recommend shoes with good grip that are waterproof.
Wool hiking socks - wool warms you up when it is cold outside but also cools you down when you are warm.
Wool or fleece top and hiking pants - we recommend wearing sporty clothes - leave your jeans for the evening dinner!
Waterproof jacket & rain trousers - stay dry and happy, do not forget to pack your rain layer!
Backpack - bring a small comfortable backpack to store your belongings in while out on the tour.
Water bottle - we advise minimum 1 litre per person - depending on which activity you have booked.
Sunglasses & sun screen - bring and use even on cloudy days to stay protected and comfortable!
Trekking poles - if you have. Trekking poles can be helpful downhill & on uneven terrain.
If You Forgot, We’ve Got You
We have trekking poles, rain trousers, fleece layers and water bottles available to borrow if needed.
Check the weather the same day - as we mention, weather in the fjords can change quickly.
